Mumbai City FC has roped in Brazilian forward Ygor Catatau on loan

The defending champions have completed their off-shore recruitment for the upcoming iteration of ISL 2021-2022.

“Mumbai City FC has completed the signing of Brazilian forward Ygor Catatau on loan from his Brazilian club. The deal was done on 28th August” as reported by IFTWC.

“Elias Duba, president of Madureira, which holds the player’s rights, informed the that the athlete (Ygor was a Madureira youth graduate, having joined the side in 2015 at the age of 20. He made his first-team debut on 26 August of that year, playing the last 15 minutes of a 1–1 Copa Rio away draw against Macaé, and scored his first goal on 30 September by netting the second of a 2–0 home win against the same opponent.) will be loaned to a club in India.” as reported by REDEBAHIA.

Ygor Catatau’s contract, initially, was valid until the end of Serie B. For the team from Bahia, the forward played 27 matches, 10 times as a starter. He scored three goals and provided an assist.

His last game for Vitória was played on July 31st, in a 0-0 draw with Avaí, for Série B.

Ygor was a Madureira youth graduate, having joined the side in 2015 at the age of 20. He made his first-team debut on 26 August of that year, playing the last 15 minutes of a 1–1 Copa Rio away draw against Macaé, and scored his first goal on 30 September by netting the second of a 2–0 home win against the same opponent. Furthur, Ygor Catatau tied his boot for CA Barra, Boa Esporte, Vasco da Gama, EC Vitória, and covering most with loan moves and modulating for 105 club career appearances.

The 26-year-old right-footed Brazilian is set for his first career outing to India after spending 6-years of samba career.

The Islanders under the prominent Sergio Lobera are set to start their ISL 2021-2022 preparation at Nagoa Ground, Goa. Mumbai City FC has recruited Igor Angulo, Cassio Gabriel, Brad Inman (Asian Quota), and the recent recruitment Ygor Catatau to defend the Hero ISL title.
