I-League side Sreenidi Deccan FC is all set to complete the signing of 28-year-old defender Subhankar Adhikari on a two-year deal, Halfway Football can exclusively confirm.
“Subhankar Adhikari has agreed to a two-year contract with Sreenidi Deccan FC,” a source tracking the transfer informed Halfway Football.
The West Bengal-born Subhankar previously played for I-League outfit Gokulam Kerala FC during the 2022/23 season. He signed with Gokulam Kerala FC in 2022, and with his contract expiring, he is set to join the Deccan side as a free agent.
He was a mainstay in Gokulam Kerala FC’s defence last season, played 21 games and clocking around 1900 minutes on the pitch. The player was also a part of their Hero Super cup campaign.
Primarily a centre back, he has also tried his traits out in the left back and right back positions as well, registering an assist in the previously concluded I-League season.
Sreenidi Deccan FC are bolstering their squad for next season after nearly missing out on promotion to the Indian Super League this time around. The addition of Subhankar Adhikari will add depth to their defence.
