Indian Super League outfit Northeast United FC have appointed 54-year-old Israeli manager Marco Balbul as their head coach for the upcoming season, Halfway Football can confirm.
Balbul replaces Khalid Jamil, under whom the highlanders couldn’t shine as expected.
“Marco Balbul is the new manager of Northeast United FC. It’s a done deal,” a source following the developments informed Halfway Football.

The 54-year-old Israeli tactician began his coaching career in 2005 as the assistant coach of Maccabi Haifa.
Balbul has also been associated with the Israeli national team. He led their U21 team, winning seven and losing four matches in the Euro U21 Qualifiers, and was also the assistant coach of the Israeli national football team.
Balbul has experience coaching different clubs in Israel like Petah Tikva, Partizan, and Bnei Sakhnin. Babul also served as the assistant coach at Police Tero FC (formerly known as BEC Tero Sasana FC).
Northeast United FC finished 10th last season and will be looking to turn things around with the appointment of Marco Balbul as their head coach.
