I-League club Aizawl FC is all set to complete the signing of Nigerian defender Emmanuel Makinde for the upcoming season, Halfway Football can confirm.
“Aizawl FC have reached an Emmanuel (Makinde). The player is currently waiting for his Visa to be issued,” a source tracking the developments informed Halfway Football.
The 23-year-old centre back will be joining the Mizoram based I-league outfit from Kyrgyzstan top tier club Alga Bishkek. Mainly playing as centre back, Makinde also have the experience of playing as defensive midfielder.
The 1.9M tall defender have played 11 matches last season in which he clocked a total of 794 minutes. He was also part of another Kyrgyzstani side FK Dordoi Bishkek.
Aizawl FC has already announced the signing of Ugandan forward Henry Kisekka. Halfway football had also revealed the signing of Argentine midfielder Matías Verón, Japanese midfielder Eisuke Mohri and Indian goalkeeper Vikram Lahkbir Singh earlier. The club also bought back their former manager Stanley Rozario and started preparations for the upcoming I-League season which is set to kick off on 29 October 2022.
