I-League side Mohammedan SC has offered an improved multi-year contract extension to the 19-year-old William Lalgoulien, Halfway Football can exclusively confirm.
“William Lalgoulien will sign a new three-year contract extension with Mohammedan SC which will keep him at the club till the end of 2025-26 season,” a source informed Halfway Football.
The young midfielder born in West Bengal joined Mohammedan from BSS Sporting in the beginning of the 2022/23 season. He just made a single appearance in the I-League towards the final minutes of the game. He also had a single appearance in the Super Cup qualifiers for the senior team.
He had a year remaining in his contract which was set to expire by 2024. The youngster has been handed a contract extension from his current contract for three years, owing to his performance in the Reliance Foundation Development League.
William was the top scorer from the east region in the regional qualifiers finding the back of the net on six occasions. Although Mohammedan FC couldn’t qualify to the next stage as they finished third in their group, the youngster’s performance caught everyone’s eyes and he decided to extend his stay with them until the end of 2025-26 season.
Mohammedan FC will be looking forward to make an attempt for promotion to the Indian Super League next season and we may see more of the youngster on the field next time around.
