Hero I-League outfit Gokulam Kerala FC has completed the signing of young midfielder Basudeb Mandi on a three-year contract, Halfway Football can confirm.
“United FC’s Basudeb Mandi will join Gokulam Kerala FC. Three-year deal signed,” a source aware of the developments told Halfway Football.
Basudeb, who hails from West Bengal, most recently played in the second division I-League for United SC.
He has played in seven games for United SC in the I-League Second Division. In addition to playing for Bengal in the Santosh Trophy, Basudeb was a member of the gold-medal-winning Bengal squad at the 36th National Games, when his outstanding goal against the hosts Gujarat helped Bengal secure a victory and advance to the semifinals.
The 22-year-old midfielder is undoubtedly a promising addition to the GKFC roster, but he still needs to establish himself on a bigger stage. Gokulam Kerala FC appears to be the best spot where he can do so.
