The best defender of the Hero I-League 2021/22 season, Aminou Bouba is all set to extend his contract with two-time I-League champions Gokulam Kerala FC, Halfway Football can confirm.
“As things stand, Cameroon defender Aminou Bouba will continue his stay at Gokulam Kerala FC,” a source informed Halfway Football.
Hailing from Maroau in Cameroon, Bouba started his professional football career at Coton Sport de Garoua. After three years, he moved to Tunisian side EspΓ©rance Sportive de Tunis.
He was transferred to Algerian club CS Constantine on a loan deal from the Tunisian outfit and later played in Saudi Arabian clubs β Al-Khaleej, Al-Ettifaq, and Al-Tai. Bouba has also booted up for Feutcheu FC, Horoya AC, and Eding Sport FC before making a move to India.

The Malabarians secured the service 1,93 m tall defender in the month of August, last year. He made his debut for the team in the 130th edition of the Durand Cup, which was commenced on September 5 in Kolkata.
The 31-year-old centre back made his I-League debut for the Kerala-based side against Churchill Brothers on December 26, 2021. After helping the team to retain their I-League trophy, he was also featured in the AFC Cup. The former Cameroon International, featured for the Malabarians 18 times in the I-League and also scored two goals.
On June 2, 2022, Gokulam Kerala FC announced the departure of head coach Vincenzo Alberto Annese who led them in their two title winning campaigns.
