Indian Super League side Odisha FC is in talks with 30-year-old Spanish attacker Néstor Albiach, Halfway Football can exclusively confirm.
“Talks between Odisha FC & Néstor Albiach move in a positive direction. He’s likely to join the Juggernauts for the upcoming season,” a source informed Halfway Football. Néstor’s representative Javier Coso also confirmed the negotiations, “Yes, Nestor (Albiach) is in talks with Odisha. The negotiations between the club and the player are currently underway.“
Néstor started his career with Levante UD’s youth team, made his senior debut for SC Requena in the 2011–12 campaign, in Tercera División (Spanish fourth division). In 2012, he moved to Segunda side Olimpic Xativa, before going out of his home country to join Czech Republic club FK Dukla Prague.
He spent almost six years in Czech Republic playing for Dukla Prague and also representing one of the top clubs of the Fortuna Liga, Sparta Prague. After being a free agent in 2019, he returned to Spain and joined CF Badalona in the third division. He then joined CD Numancia in September 2020, and returned to Badalona in the summer of 2021 after appearing occasionally.
Néstor will be a free agent in the summer of 2023 after finishing his contract with his current club CF Rayo Majadahonda, who plays in the third tier of Spanish football. The Spaniard who can play anywhere in the attack will be a great addition to any team in the ISL. He played a total of 32 matches this season acquiring 13 goal contributions.
Néstor Albiach is a versatile attacker who can score and create goals. His contribution to the team’s attack is immense. With Sergio Lobera at the helm, Odisha FC is looking to continue their title-winning expertise to the next season, after winning the Hero Super Cup this season.
