I-League side Delhi FC is all set to sign former East Bengal defensive duo Lalramchullova and Koushik Sarkar on a one-year deal with an option to extend for another year, Halfway Football can exclusively confirm.
“Lalramchullova and Koushik (Sarkar) will be joining Delhi FC for a season-long contract. Both of them have an optional extension clause for one more year,” a source tracking the transfers informed Halfway Football.
Lalramchullova, the 27-year-old full-back who can also play as a centre-back, made his professional debut with Aizawl FC in the I-League in 2016. He has also represented East Bengal and Mohammedan SC in the I-League.
Even though he returned to East Bengal in 2020 to play in the ISL, before joining Mohammedan SC, he did not get any minutes on the field. He has also worn the jersey of Mohun Bagan in the I-League in the 2019-20 season. Most recently, he joined the Aizawl-based club Chanmari FC, which participates in the Mizoram Premier League.
Former Indian International defender Koushik Sarkar has played for clubs including East Bengal FC, Peerless SC, Kenkre FC and Real Kashmir FC. He has played for the Indian national team twice during the Stephen Constantine era.
The 29-year-old, who is a former East Bengal captain will be joining the I-League newcomers from Kolkata-based side Bhawanipore FC.
Delhi FC continues to strengthen their Indian core with exciting additions. Koushik and Lalramchullova will be valuable additions to the club’s backline.
