Rajasthan United FC’s midfielder Lalliansanga Renthlei is all set to join Indian Super League outfit Odisha FC on a three-year deal, Halfway Football can confirm.
“Lalliansanga (Renthlei) will be joining Odisha FC for an undisclosed transfer fee, the contract will be for three years. Punjab FC and Jamshedpur FC were also interested in signing the midfielder,” a source informed Halfway Football.
The AIFF Elite Academy graduate, Lalliansanga signed for Chennaiyin FC ‘B’ team in 2017. He was loaned out to Indian Arrows in 2019, where he made his senior debut in the I-League.
The 24-year-old joined fellow I-League side Sudeva Delhi FC in 2020 for two years. He played almost 30 matches for the Delhi side before joining Rajasthan United FC.
Lalliansanga Renthlei is a versatile footballer who has played in different positions across his career, as a defensive midfielder, wing-back, and as winger. He played 25 games for Rajasthan United FC last season and was an integral part of the starting XI. He also captained the side on several occasions.
Under Sergio Lobera, Odisha FC have been impressive in the transfermarket ahead of the forthcoming season. They have already roped in Ahmed Jahouh and Mortada Fall to strengthen their foreign contingent along with Indians Laldinliana Renthlei and Aphaoba Singh.
