The winger from Kerala left his home club Kerala Blasters last week despite having 1 more year left on his contract.
“Prashanth has joined Chennaiyin FC. Contract signed for a year,” a source informed Halfway Football.
The Kozhikode-born winger joined Kerala Blasters on 2016 from AIFF Elite Academy. He spent that seaosn on loan at I-League side Chennai City FC. He spent the next five years at Kerala Blasters and became one of the longest serving players for the Kochi-based club.
He played more than 60 matches for the Blasters scoring a goal and assiting thrice. His only goal in ISL for Kerala Blasters came against Odisha FC in the 2021-22 season.
Chennaiyin FC have roped in some exciting Indian talent this season. The 25-year-old winger will be following the path of his former teammate Vincy Baretto, as he switches side to the southern rivals of Kerala Blasters. After two dismal seasons in the Indian top-tier, the Marina Machans will be aiming high under new head coach Thomas Brdaric.
