Newly formed Hero I-League club Inter Kashi is in talks with young Spanish winger Jordan Lamela Garrido for a possible transfer, Halfway Football can exclusively confirm.
“Jordan Lamela is very likely to join Atletico Madrid’s new partner club in India. They (Inter Kashi) are now getting closer to securing his signature,” a source aware of the transfer informed Halfway Football.
The 22-year-old Spaniard recently plied his trade for Spanish fourth-tier club CA Antoniano. In the recently concluded season, he played more than 20 matches and scored two goals for the club.
He started his senior career with Club San Ignacio in the 2020-21 season. After a season, he moved to another fourth-tier side Xerez CD, where he played 21 games, scored three goals. The midfielder, who can also play as a winger, played for Balón de Cádiz and Alaves youth teams before the beginning of his senior football career.
Inter Kashi, owned by Kolkata-based RDB Group, is set to compete in the I-League after gaining direct entry via bidding. It is the first professional club from the state of Uttar Pradesh and is partnered with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, Inter Escaldes and FC Andorra.
