Round 2 of Hero I-League 2021-22 to take place in Kolkata from 3rd March 2022, Halfway Football understands.
Teams to report to the designated hotels 12 days before their first match. Teams to remain in quarantine for the next 7 days after their check-in into the Hotel. The last date of all Player Registrations is 28th February 2021.

The format to remain the same, i.e. 13 teams to play in Round Robin format (single leg). After playing 12 matches each, the Top 7 teams will qualify for the Championship stage and the bottom 6 will be in the relegation stage. The Bottom 6 to play each other in a round-robin format (single leg). The team with the lowest aggregate points (12 + 5 matches) will be relegated to the Hero 2nd Division League. The Top 7 to play each other in round-robin format {single leg). The team with the highest aggregate points (12 + 6 matches) will be declared as I-League Champions and qualify for AFC Cup 2023 Group stage.
Indian Arrows and Sreenidi Deccan FC will have immunity from relegation in this season.
Earlier, on 3rd January 2022, I-League 2021-22 was postponed for at least six weeks due to positive cases inside the bio-bubble.
